This application note describes the extraction of the 'date rape' drug GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid) from urine using supported liquid extraction and subsequent analysis by GC/MS. Both 96-well plate and column formats are included, and demonstrate good analyte recovery and reproducibility, at levels appropriate for determining illicit use of GHB.
